Had our monthly WOW get together. It was just the four of us. We all had the burger. It was national burger day after all. The waitress was on cue and gave us the attention we wanted. The burger and fries were delicious!! We all had clean plates. It was s Thursday night and a mixed crowd. Some kids and young and old. Will go again.

I went to The Southern Sunday for their biscuits & gravy I keep hearing about and I'm so glad I did. They come with eggs and potatoes all for $10! The biscuits & gravy were fantastic & the potatoes were the best I've ever had. Already looking forward to this Sunday.

This place rocks....get the cheesesteak...it's amazing. The staff is friendly and it's refreshing to have a place that's comfortable with it's own identity. Rock on, Southern. Love it.

While the hostess and our server were excellent. There was a major mishap in the kitchen. Result was a dish for one of us that was not palatable. Issue was the collard were not washed correctly and were plated with grit and sand. Teeth shattering experience. Ruined the dinner for my significant other. Had to prod the management to finally take something off the ticket. That should have been done as a courtesy without us having to ask. That was the deal-breaker for a repeat visit, would have been inclined to forgive and return again. Not likely now. SaleebScore: Ambiance: 9/10; Service: 9/10; Food: 5/10 (FAIL) Heart goes out to the chef, as it was probably someone under him that screwed up.. but management should have jumped at the opportunity to make things right without the guests having to insist.

Great place to spend time and make new friends. The food IS wonderful, the staff is friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is pretty much laid back and it has a country feel which I find pretty interesting ( Being a City Gal from NJ). I actually got to sip wine out of a Mason Jar. I had to take pictures to brag to my friends and family back home. Overall, a very pleasant and Friendly place. I find The Southern Bar & Grill's Cheese Steak Sandwiches are in the same league as Tony Lukes & Geno's in Philadelphia!!! Fantastic! Keep up the good work!!!

Came here for a Meetup group with some friends for the first time. Note that The Southern Bar & Grill is different from Southerly's restaurant and The Southern grocery store. It is in the same shopping area across from Southerly's and The Southern store. That said, I thought the food was pretty good, standard bar fare. The service was also very good and we had a very nice waitress. We had the following to eat (5 is best, 1 worst) -Toasted ravioli stuffed with beef - 4 - light and crispy toasted ravioli served with marina -Pimento cheese fondue - 3 - I thought this was okay but the pita it was served with was limp and too thin to really dip. A crispier pita chip would have gone well with this. -Spinach dip with wonton chips - 3 - I liked the creativity of the wonton chips but the spinach dip was very mayonaissy -Potato skins - did not eat this one so can't rate it, but my friend was disappointed as the bacon was barely visible, and commented they were just potato skins with a ton of sour cream -Philly Cheese Steak - 5 - this was my favorite entree, very cheesy cheese steak served with fresh french fries

Cool little spot. This last weekend was my first time going. It isn't too big but has a good atmosphere. Seems like a lot of locals go there creating the Cheers-ish feel. They apparently have a ton of live music that comes through so I'll definitely be back to check that out. I found it particularly fun they have like a stand up shuffle board game too.

This is one of the best kept secrets in Mount Pleasant. I feel bad evening giving them a shout out because I want this to remain smaller and local. They have really great bands and the food is an excellent choice of bar food. The staff is a fun group of people and am glad to live near this establishment. Keep on rocking guys! Thanks for knowing how to professionally operate in food and beverage.

I have been meaning to hit this place up for a long time and finally just got around to it. It's located on a section of Coleman with a lot of other restaurants so I can imagine it sometimes gets overlooked. The inside is casual and fun, gives off a hint of bar divey-ness without being dirty or dark. The shuffle board in the corner as well as the super cute tin pig lights above the booths make it feel like a great place to gather with a group. My mother and I were some of the few people in there for lunch so service was very prompt. The menu wasn't very extensive, but they do have some classic lunch options to choose from. I went with the Philly Cheese sandwich and my mom opted for a burger with havarti cheese and a side of onion rings. The cheese steak was very tasty, with a good ratio of onions and peppers to meat. The burger was huge and juicy and paired well with the onion rings which were cut thin and lightly battered. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star instead of a 4 is that my fries were waaaay over cooked. As in you could barely bite into them. If it weren't for the fact that I was short on time and was already full from the other food, I would have sent them back and asked for some new ones. Me being the potato-loving-girl that I am, it's never a good thing to get bad fries. The quality of everything else would definitely lead me to go back and give them another shot on fries. Definitely looking forward to checking out their dinner and one of their bluegrass music nights soon.!

I really like the vibe here. You've got your local beers on tap, live music, and a Cheers-ish feel with everybody seeming to know everybody. We went to watch the NFL opener and ended up talking to a couple of different people next to us throughout the night. Beer selection was good and the two appetizers we got were better than average for bar food. It's a bar that I'd want to be a regular to, though it's not really place I'd show off to out-of-towners.

Little gem of Mount Pleasant. Good live music and beers flowing. Then the food.... I was a little hesitant, but I was wrong. House wings are a winner, chicken sandwich with fries rocked. Thursday is $5.00 Philly Steaks dine-in only!

Homey atmosohere. The vibe is kind of hipsterish mixed with grizzly. Decent alcohol selection. Not a favorite spot but definitely decent.

It worked on the beach, it doesn't really work in Mount Pleasant. It's too bad Hank and Perry had to leave Surf Bar out on folly and start their own place in suburbia. But they literally took the EXACT menu from surf bar and brought it to their new restaurant and brought the same run down look with them. They literally tried no new concept to try to fit their new location. The "who cares" decor was perfect for a folly beach bar but it just doesn't work in mount pleasant on Coleman. womp womp.

Great burgers, salads, and nachos. Fun, casual atmosphere and live music. Nice selection of beers, but they also make delicious fresh juice cocktails. Hank the owner is friendly. Overall, it's a great place to grab dinner or a beer with no need to dress up. A friendly place where it is easy to relax.

Felt a little funny walking in, because it reminded me of what a new kid at school must feel like entering the classroom. As soon as we walked in, everyone sitting at the bar just turned around...and stared. Bartender included. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, so maybe we took them by surprise with it definitely being a locals bar, but damn y'all! With that said, the food is fantastic. Loved every bite and will definitely be back. So get used to it!

I had a really great time here. I didn't have food, except some chips from behind the bar that were amazing, but I loved the whole place. It definitely feels like a locals spot that has it's own following. My buddy lives across the street and we were all crashing at his place on the fourth of July... safety first. We walked across to The Southern to finish of the evening after the fireworks. The bartenders were cool guys and great to chat with. There were plenty of people there but not packed. Plus I ran into some other friends there as well. It reminds me of my favorite little neighborhood bar, in a good way.

Great spot, a hidden gem but probably for not much longer. Great food, drinks, and live music. The cheesesteak and onion rings are excellent.
